Where is that piece of land?

Often times, a customer wants to know where a particular plot of land is. The problem occurs when that piece of land looks like the piece of jungle below. Where exactly is it?

There are many reasons why they wish to know the location of the plot of land.

a) Perhaps they want to buy the land to built their dream home
b) Maybe the piece of land belong to their grandparents, and the grandparents have not done anything to the land, including establishing the boundaries of the land by building a fence arund it.
c) Maybe the customer is afraid someone else is encroaching (entering) into the plot of land and want to establish ownership of it.

This is where a licensed Land Surveyor comes in.

Here is the general steps to establishing where that land is.
a) First, we will ask the customer for the copy of the title for the plot of land
b) Then, we will look for the coordinates of the lot to establish the location
c) We will physically go to the area and survey the land.

d) We will then mark the corners of the lot as shown in the photos above.
e) We will create a plan showing what is in the area and at the client's request, we will also provide photos of the location of the boundaries.

Question: My property is in town. I need to know if someone is building into my property. What do I do?

The steps to establish the boundary is the same, irregardless if it's in the city, in a village or in a rural area full of trees.

We will do a survey to establish the location of your property and we will mark it clearly for your reference.

Here are some images of what the corners of the boundary will look like.

The red mark will indicate the corner of the property

Sometimes, the land is long forgotten and what happens is squatters take over and built on the land. It is possible to find out where it is as well.
